CONGRATULATIONS DAD...

I love you Dad, with all of my heart,
You've always been there for me, right from the start,
You're my staff of life to me, my guiding star,
My guardian angel, yes that's what you are,

As you grow older, I grow older too,
I realise all of the things that you do,
Are harder to manage, can't quite find the way,
You're not just as fit, as you were yesterday,

But hey, not to worry, because now you see,
That your guardian angel is with you ,
It's me .....

HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY DAD...
LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART

Hi all,

I'm really excited but also really anxious because my Niece Louise, is going into Hospital first thing, to give birth to her third baby.. She is expecting a baby Daughter and her name is to be Ruby May..

She has to be delivered by section, so it's a little worrying but I'm confident she'll be okay..

She has a Daughter and a Son already, Lily, aged 3, and Dylan almost 2....

I'll post pics tomorrow as soon as they come in, so watch this space..

Good vibes and fingers crossed please everyone...

Love and luck Pat x x

Halloween antics

Hi everyone.

I hope you all had a great time on Halloween.. I had my usual bucket of sweeties ready for the trick or treaters but missed most of them as I decided to help Steven with his Double O group at work. Double O is a group for young people with Downs Syndrome or learning disabilities. They really enjoy all things fun and even though I didn't stay the whole time, Steven said they had a great time.

I went to help Steven set up. I put the halloween snacks out, such yummies as, googly eye balls, which are mallow with an orangy centre and green slime outer covered in coconut and we also had green slime tarts, halloween fancies and brown mud slabs... YUMMY !!!

Steven hung spooky Halloween banners and covered the place in spiders webs with spiders still in them, ( not real of course ) he also ( thinking of everything ) bought a cd of blood curdling screams, sound effects and spooky music, which really set the mood..

I then left and went to buy us a Chinese meal from the local takeaway because I knew Steven hadn't eaten much that day, as he'd been searching high and low for pumpkins for the group...

My Mum donated some food for the event and a very nice friend of Steven's donated the pumpkins and decorations for the room...

No wonder a good time was had by all...I wish I'd stayed for the fun but someone had to feed the troops....

Her are a few pics of my Great Niece, Lily and her Brother Dylan enjoying their Halloween.. I hope you like them as much as I do..

Just a song for you

Hi all,

Just a short entry today , as I'm really tired from fighting yet another cold and trying to strip the wallpaper from the hallway ready for replastering...

Thought I'd add a song I sang a few weeks ago with Steve... Hope you like it..

'It's Impossible'

No rest for the wicked I guess...

Hope you are all well, keep warm..

JUST RAMBLING...

Well, it's my favourite time of year again, when the leaves are all turning a gorgeous vibrant orange colour before they fall gently to the ground like duck feathers...
I still love to walk on them and listen to the crunchy noise they make...I'm still a child at heart, thank goodness...
There's a chill starting to fill the air and everyone digs out their winter coats and scarves to keep warm on the dark mornings travel to work and school..
I always feel really excited this time of year because there is so much to look forward to...
We have Halloween coming up of course, when all my little Nieces and Nephews dress up in scarey costumes and go house to house trick or treating, or, as Steven used to say " trickle treating " lol!!! bless him...
I have a gorgeous medieval top to wear this year with my jeans and my witches brooch always looks stunning on my lapel..
Must get loads of photos this year and post them on here for you to see...
Then, on 5th November, it's Bonfire Night here in England and it's also my Dad's 80th birthday...
We're having a party at home for him because he's not very mobile and has other problems too.. It wont spoil anything though, because there'll be balloons and banners and my Sister Joanne is baking him a birthday cake, besides lots of other good food and all the family around him, so I'm sure he'll have a great time...
Then, of course there's Christmas...woohoo!!! I absolutely love Christmastime.. as I'm sure everyone else does too...
I can't wait for the snow to come because we don't seem to get much these past few years...I hope we at least get enough to go sledging and building snowmen.. See...I'm just a big kid..lol!!!
Well, believe it or not, I actually like this new bloggy home thing because I get the chance to customise it the way I like, well,Steven does it for me..lol!! Although, I DID put my little fairycastle logo on myself... ( stands back and admires it )...
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my blogs, even though I don't post everyday.. Please feel free to come by again...
Love and luck Pat x x

steven

Anybody who knows me, knows I'm Steve's Mum.

Being Steve's Mum, I know that since being a toddler, he has ALWAYS shown compassion to animals whether they be large or small, two legged or multi legged, hairy, scaley, spikey, fluffy, feathery, you get the gist ...

He used to go " bug hunting " in the grass and would come back with frogs, spiders, slugs, in fact, he once came home with a hedgehog and hid it under his bed.. What a fright I got cleaning under there one day..

We put it in a box and took it back to where it came from and lo and behold, the next morning...there it was again..it had found it's way back to us..

This went on for a few days, us taking it back and it ALWAYS coming back the next day.. obviously liked Steven..

To get to present day, Steven and Anthony have been given some Goldfish by a friend and they keep them in Steve's bedroom here. Anthony was then given some live Daphnia and some Bloodworms to feed the new Goldfish on..

Well...as soon as Steven laid eyes on these poor little Bloodworms and Daphnia, he went on his usual crusade and refused point blank to feed them to the Goldfish.

Instead he put them into my fishpond in the garden to give them" a fair chance of life"

BLESS HIM !!

How many people do you know with so much compassion for all living things..

What a special young man he is...but then...I guess I'm just biassed..

ANOTHER ANGEL IN HEAVEN

I know it's been ages since my last entry but I felt I had to let you know that my Sister- in-Law, Anne, passed away this afternoon....

As you may remember, She was struck down with lung cancer last year and it spread to her stomach and her brain..

She was in the local newspaper as she was trying to warn young people away from smoking...

She worked as a theatre nurse for many years. She was 52 years old and had celebrated her 1st Wedding Anniversary last January.

She has been in and out of hospital for treatment and was sent home a few days ago...

She had recently been on holiday with her Hubby and had a great time..

She called to her Parents house and had a cup of tea with them before going shopping for groceries..

Shortly after arriving home, she collapsed and an ambulance was called.. She collapsed again in the ambulance and died right there...

I have only known her for a short while but I will always remember her for her kindness, and thoughtfulness towards others..

She was the big Sister I never had and I will never forget her.

REST IN PEACE ANNE.............GOD BLESS

Stranger in camp

Well, here I am again to tell you of my Great Nephew born just a couple of days ago. This little man takes me to 28 Great Nephews and Nieces now.... He hasn't a name yet but I'll keep you posted..

I have 22 Nephews and Nieces too and also I found my 2 nieces from my first marriage whom I've never seen except on photographs, I never thought I'd ever see them .... Phew !!  This is hard work...

I haven't been around much these past couple of months because I've been sooo busy doing up the house and helping Mum look after Dad..

The good news is that Adrian's Mum is doing really well and a stair lift has been fitted for her at home, so maybe she will be able to move out of the care home soon. I haven't seen her for some months now but the last time I saw her, I said I would make her a cup of tea at her house next time I saw her.. Hopefully, I can keep my promise...

Hope you're all well and that the weather's being kind to you wherever you are..

Catch you all again soon   bye for now...

GODCHILDREN

Just wanted to introduce you to all of my Godchildren.

The first one is my Nephew, Lee, holding his Sister's little boy, Dylan. He's about to become a Daddy for the first time too.

The next one is Daniel, another Nephew of mine, he's nearly ten now.

Next is Louise, my Niece, she is the Sister to Lee and Mother to Dylan.

Last but not least is my friend's baby, Max. He is just seven weeks old. I love him as if he was my Nephew ( or Grandson ) Goodness knows I'm old enough.

I feel very blessed to have so many Nephews and Nieces and Great Nephews and Nieces. I love them all the same. I think it was thirty something last time I counted.

Mother's Day always makes me mull over my years of Motherhood and I know we came through some really bad times but we had so many really happy times too. Now both my boys are grown and doing their own thing, I would LOVE to be a Nanna. Still, I suppose I should just be grateful I have them both healthy and with me .But it doesn't hurt to dream...

Max

Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce you to my new Godson to be,  Max.

Isn't he GORGEOUS

I was really delighted when his Mum asked if I would be his Godmother.

Especially as everyone I know is beating me to being a Nanna.

Not that I'm in a hurry to grow old but I'm so wanting to be a Nanna now, while I'm  young enough to watch them grow up.

His Naming Ceremony is in June... and of course... there will be photographs....lots of them.

I'm not actually a Godmother, I'm to be his Supporter but it's basically the same thing without the religious side.

Hope everyone is well and I will post again soon. Lots of love for now.. x x x

FRANCES

Just wanted to post this photograph of Frances. I have been looking for her for sooo long and I finally found her a few weeks ago.

Although she passed away about twenty years ago, I am in contact with the rest of the family and enjoy getting to know them all.

Frances is the lady on the far right of the picture. She looks SO like my Grandad, her only Brother. The Gentleman to the left of her is her Husband, Harry. Then comes their Son, Tom and his new Wife, Orleen and her parents.I chat to Orleen often over the phone, she usually rings at about 2.30 in the morning, which used to give me a fright but now I know who it is, I look forward to her call. She is such a LOVELY lady, I feel I've known her all my life.

Just wished that I had thought of trying to find Frances when I was younger, then maybe we could  have met. She is very dearly loved by all of us, even though we have never met her, we have heard SO much about her from my Grandad, who has also passed away twenty years ago now. In fact, they both died the same year, which, as they were thought to be twins, we thought was REALLY strange.

I am told she was a VERY hard working lady, as was her Husband Harry. I suppose they had to work hard to move to a strange country with no family or friends. They had to start life over again from scratch. The Walsh's are all very stubborn and thank goodness they are, or maybe life for Frances would have been too hard and she may not have survived.

I would like to thank Lyn especially for finding and sending me the website that got me started with my search, things really came together quickly after that. I will always be grateful to her.

update

I know I haven't been forthcoming with entries in my journal lately but it's been pretty awful around here over the past few weeks.

Adrian's Mum is doing fine at the moment. She is living in a residential home now and she's doing okay, although far from well.

And if that isn't enough, Adrian's Sister was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago and has been having chemotherapy on and off. She was given the all clear once or twice but it keeps coming back and now she's told that it's spreading. She has tumours in her brain, her throat and her stomach. Although she hasn't told anyone directly, we have been told that she's been given six months.

She worked as a theatre nurse in the main hospital in Belfast and is such a lovely person. She is the only big Sister I have and I know some of you know how it feels to be losing her.

I haven't written about it in my journal because I know some of you have been through the same thing and I didn't want to bring it up again and upset anyone.

It's something you always hear about happening to someone else and it hits really hard when it's your family it's happening to.

We are all just taking things a day at a time as it's all we can do at the moment but everytime the phone rings we jump and wonder if it's bad news about his Mum or his Sister.

I hope everyone in j-land is well and I hope to catch up with you all.

Best wishes Pat  x x

Good to be back

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say sorry for not looking in on anyone's journal over the past couple of weeks but I had to take my pc to the pc hospital because it collapsed.

At first I thought it was just something minor and the doctor said it kept " looping " and probably just needed slight adjustment but then he rang and told me that its hard drive was broken. It was worse than I thought and it had to have a hard drive transplant.

Needless to say I was happy to see it again today. My desk looked so lonely with out it.  Its memories have all gone now. I have to start from scratch again with photos and videos and everything. Should keep me very busy for a while at least.

But it's really good to be back and I hope to catch up on journals over the weekend. Hope everyone is well and happy. Did I miss anything ?

Oh! and you may notice that I have changed my photo for a glamshot I had taken at my Sister's wedding last December, when I was a Bridesmaid. We had a great time and everyone looked gorgeous.

bye for now   Pat  x x
